Ayana Almaz from Ethiopia broke the world record at Women’s 10,000-meter race

On the evening of 12th of August the Rio Olympic track and field competition took place. Almaz Ayana of Ethiopia took the lead and finished in 29 minutes, 17.45 seconds shattering the world record in the women's 10,000-meter race set by the Chinese runner in 1993 Wang Junxia. The previous record was 29 minutes 31 seconds 78. Vivian Cheruiyot from Kenya and Tirunesh Dibaba from Ethiopia won the second and third place with time of 29 minutes and 32 seconds 53 and 29 minutes and 42 seconds 56, respectively. Nawowuna finished in the fourth place with 29 minutes 53 seconds 31. It is worth mentioning that the first four of the competition, all broke the 54 minute 29 seconds 66 Olympic record.
