The world record attempt, initiated by PNB MetLife India Insurance Company Limited, was held across 10 cities in India. A total of 8315 kids participated in the Junior Badminton Championship from 1st August to 28th September 2024. Verified by the World Record Certification Agency (WRCA), the championship successfully broke the world record for the "Most Kids Participating in a Badminton Championship (Multiple Venues)". The PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship (JBC) has set a world record for the "Most Kids Participating in a Badminton Championship (Multiple Venues)" for three consecutive years. In 2022, the sixth edition saw 8,031 participants across 12 Indian states. The seventh edition in 2023 surpassed this with 8,257 participants. In 2024, the eighth edition continued this trend, further increasing participation and reinforcing the championship's commitment to nurturing young badminton talent. These achievements highlight the championship's dedication to promoting badminton among youth across India. By providing a platform for young athletes to compete and develop their skills, the JBC plays a significant role in fostering the next generation of badminton players. The involvement of prominent figures like Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and Asian Games gold medalists Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy as mentors further inspires and motivates participants. Additionally, initiatives such as the JBC Boot Camp offer online training resources, ensuring that young players have access to quality coaching and support.
